Information

A little-known good place to ride in Shiga Kogen

From Higashitateyama summit to Yamanoeki, long ride for beginners!

Normally most of beginner courses are located in the lower area of the resorts. If you come to Shiga Kogen, even if you are beginner, you may want to enjoy panoramic views and appreciate the altitude of the highest ski resort in Japan. Therefore, we recommend the Higashitateyama Forest course!

Three gondolas bring you up from Yamanoeki bus terminal to the top of Mt. Higashitateyama, at 2,000m above sea level. There is a panorama terrace and a restaurant. If you are lucky, there may be a sea of clouds!

After appreciating the majestic view, you can easily ride down through the Higashitateyama Forest course. This course is perfect for beginners or families, and good for everyone who want to enjoy a ride surrounded by trees and feel the nature. Enjoy a refreshing long ride!

After running through the forest, this course continues to Bunadaira slope which is not steep and is wide enough for beginners. This course brings you back to the bottom of Giant area.

Then you can go to your next ride, or back to the Yamanoeki station with Shiga Kogen resort gondola and have lunch at Yama no Kitchen in the Yamanoeki center building.
