Even on routes that are normally open to traffic, sudden closures may occur due to freezing or snowfall depending on weather conditions. Please be sure to check the weather forecast and traffic restrictions in advance whenever possible.
National Route R292 “Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route”
Shiga-Kusatsu Kogen Route（From Shiga Kogen Yosaka Gate to Kusatsu Tenguyama Gate） 【Temporary Closed】
From Manza Onsen Junction to Kusatsu Tenguyama Gate (black lined in the following map) is temporary closed due to volcanic activity.

Detour Route
You can access Kusatsu Onsen Town from Tsumagoi Village via the Manza Highway (a toll road).
*Pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles under 125cc are not allowed on the Manza Highway.
*The route is open between Manza Onsen and Shiga Koggen. (Between Joshin’etsu Highway Nakano I.C. and Shibutoge in Shiga Kogen is also open)
